About Us

Get to Know Us!

The High Tide Public House offers a unique and friendly atmosphere with a variety of seating options to make you feel comfortable. Choose from outdoor seating on our summer sidewalk patio or one of our window seats to get the street view of downtown Courtenay. For more privacy, get comfy in one of our spacious booths, take a seat at the bar, or choose a high table. If you’re meeting to celebrate a special occasion, we can also accommodate tables for two, or larger groups in front of our stage area.

The High Tide Social House is a Courtenay pub owned and operated by Deana Simkin, who purchased the establishment formerly known as Billy D’s Pub and Bistro in December of 2010. Since that time, she’s gotten to know and love her regular customers and hard-working staff, some of whom have been working there longer than she has!

Inspired by the extensive shellfish and seafood industry in the Comox Valley, she has expanded her vision to offer a Courtenay pub that includes an upscale casual seafood-centric menu that will complement the hub of quality live music the pub has become known for.

Deana’s customer focus and positive optimism is influential beyond the pub too, serving as Past President of the Downtown Courtenay Business Association, Past President of the Courtenay Rotary Club, and Vice President of the Comox Valley Economic Development & Tourism Board. She is also a supporter of Comox Valley Special Olympics.
